Sarah Bowmar Review

What can I say about the past two months on my fitness journey? Well, let's go back to the beginning... For the past year, I had been working full time as a registered nurse on a demanding acute care floor in Chicago. While I loved my job, I felt socailly isolated after a messy break up and leaving the service industry and stressed after working long hours. While I had always been relatively fit doing activities like kickboxing or biking, I started becoming "too busy" and "too tired" to work out. I also felt depressed and tired of the Chicago manic weather. Soon I was stress/binge eating after long nights after work and gaining almost 20 pounds in about a year. Everytime I would start a new workout video or attempt to go to a gym, I would feel lost or not be able to maintain any weight loss.

I decided that it was time for a change. I was lucky enough to be financially stable, single, and without kids. So I decided to try something new and move to Portland, Oregon. And two nights before my drive, I saw Sarah Bowmar's post about her summer challenge. I had been a huge fan of her instagram page and found her inspirational. The program was also a bargain and offered someone who had no idea where to start a clear eating and fitness program! While I had my doubts that I would actually be able to maintain a strict eating and fitness schedule, I decided to give it a go! New city, new lifestyle?

So, the morning after I arrived in Portland, I scoped out a local gym and got to grocery shopping. Now, I would like to pretend the first week was all magic and I fell in love.... but that would be a lie. I felt lost at the gym amidst all the fitness aficionados. I also felt like death on the stairmaster silently cursing Sarah Bowmar and the active lifestyle every step along the way... It felt impossible and I wanted to give. Here's the thing, I didn't... Instead, I just kept following Sarah's plan every single day and kept emailing her constantly for support and minor questions. By week 2, I felt stronger and had already lost 2 inches!

Now here is the crazier thing... The gym became my new "home" away from home. I learned the names of the people at the gym, learned the layout, learned the equipment and soon it became an important part of my morning routine. Honestly, it became a habit and a comforting routine in a new city with lots of uncertainties. I also learned how to go to other gyms when I was out of town. Excuses were just not an option anymore and I surprised myself with my motivation and dedication.  I also loved pushing my body to its max and the feelings of strength and power that come with working out.

I cannot thank Sarah Bowmar enough. Her program is so crystal clear and easy to follow. She also makes herself available to you ANYTIME. I have emailed her constantly and she has always been supportive and prompt in her responses. I could never have gotten this far without her program and I think it is easy to see the results.
